Complete the levels and collect the donuts, just because....
Goals
100 Times Madness was an attempt at creating a small "rage"-platformer inspired by other low budget platfomers like "i wanna be the guy". The game was supposed to be very challenging and contain 100 levels getting more and more difficult. The player could overcome the challenging levels by utilizing the ability to flip the direction of gravity.

My Tasks
Introduction
100 Times Madness was a small hobby project I worked on alone back in 2015. I pretty much did everything, except music and sounds. I created a very basic character controller that could perform small jumps and flip the gravity around.
I drew all of the pixel art and built all of the 8 levels currently present in the game. A level editor got created as well to make it easier to fill big chunks of the level with tiles, since GameMaker was quite limited in that regard back in the day.
Post Mortem
100 Times Madness was a cute little project I started working on in my free time. At this point I was already quite skilled with the GameMaker engine, but I wanted to stay simple and actually finish a project. Well, that didn't happen, although a lot of the puzzle pieces were there.
My approach was quite simple as well. I would build a level and just program features in that I thought of in the moment.
In the end, I only built 8 out of 100 planned levels, even though they were quite simplistic and small. I got distracted by other projects and prototypes, and I never came back to finish this game, even though production on this project was already quite far. Who knows, maybe I will pick up this project in the future again.
